Monitoring installation cannot be ignored:


1. Location requirements

For the surveillance camera, its position is directly related to the imaging effect of the equipment. Therefore, many users regard the monitoring effect as the primary reference for the installation position of the monitoring camera. However, they ignore a very important point: when selecting the installation position of the surveillance camera, it also has its own requirements. First, the installation position is to make the camera avoid the interference of the surrounding environment and achieve better photography and survival. When installing in the indoor environment, try to ensure that the equipment height is not less than 2.5m. In the outdoor environment, the monitoring equipment shall be placed at a height of more than 3.5m from the ground. Otherwise, whether from the perspective of camera self-protection or equipment monitoring, it will have a lot of negative effects. Only after considering these basic problems can we consider the angle.


2. Installation angle

It is mainly divided into cylindrical type and hemispherical type. Barrel type is common, including indoor and outdoor; Hemispherical form is generally indoor with small volume, which can be wall mounted or ceiling mounted.


Attention should also be paid to the angle when installing cameras in security monitoring projects. For ordinary cameras with limited dynamic functions, direct light source shall be avoided and backlight shall not be installed. This paper introduces the principle and method of camera backlight compensation and adjustment! During installation, the surveillance camera must be fixed firmly to prevent the picture from shaking. For the wall, the impact drill can be used to drill holes to block the blockage, and then the support can be fixed on the wall with self tapping screws. For the ceiling, the wood block can be placed on the top, and the wood block can be screwed through the ceiling through self tapping. There is also a key problem: pay attention to the selection of camera mounting bracket.


Outdoor special support shall be selected as far as possible. The cost is not high, but the wind resistance coefficient varies greatly. The wireless bridge knows to use a thick bracket, and the camera chooses such a bracket. If the wind is a little strong, the position of the camera will change immediately.


3. Installation height

The installation height of the surveillance camera should not be too low to prevent malicious damage by others, nor too high to avoid inconvenience during future maintenance. The recommended installation height is 3 ~ 4m, which can be installed by ladder. In addition, if the camera is installed on a high pole, later maintenance must be considered. For example, a ladder can be mounted on a vertical bar. The cost of renting aerial vehicles is very high. At the same time, due to the high installation height of the surveillance camera, it is necessary to use ladders and other auxiliary tools. Therefore, pay attention to safety when climbing the ladder to prevent the danger caused by falling from high altitude. For higher positions, fasten the safety belt before construction.


4. Power safety

The surveillance camera needs separate power supply. Pay attention to safety during strong current wiring. We can test with a multimeter and electric pen first to ensure that the power is turned on after power failure. In addition, waterproof treatment shall be done when installing outdoor surveillance cameras. Buy a webcam with a waterproof tail line. In addition, a small waterproof box can be installed under the surveillance camera, and the power supply and connector can be placed in the waterproof box.


Pay attention to lightning protection. In areas prone to lightning stroke, the surveillance camera must be protected against lightning stroke. Video lightning protection module and power supply module can be used for lightning protection.


There are two power supply modes: DC power supply and Poe power supply. Compared with DC power supply, Poe power supply only needs to be connected to Poe switch or Poe network hard disk video recorder, which makes construction and maintenance easier and convenient.


Non Poe power supply: each camera needs many wires, network cables, PVC sleeves, sockets and security power accessories. The lines are messy, the installation is complex and the maintenance is not easy.


Poe power supply: one camera, one network cable, data and power are transmitted at the same time, which is simple and convenient.

Compared with the two power supply modes, Poe power supply is more concise and the cost may be lower than non Poe power supply.


5. Requirements for lighting environment

When using the surveillance camera at night, in order to avoid reflection and shadow, lighting equipment is usually required, and infrared light can be used instead of ordinary bulb. However, users must use black-and-white surveillance cameras and network surveillance cameras with infrared lighting equipment, because black-and-white surveillance cameras are very sensitive to infrared light, while color surveillance cameras cannot play the infrared function.


Nowadays, many cameras have begun to use wide dynamic function to improve their imaging ability in backlight environment, but this does not mean that the camera can continue to complete its work in strong light environment. Because under strong light, direct strong light is easy to make it difficult for the camera to locate the accurate image, resulting in the decolorization of the color filter on the sensor chip, resulting in stripes on the monitoring image of the camera.


Therefore, if possible, we try to keep the camera in "smooth" mode, but in any case, we should avoid the direct stimulation of strong light to the camera lens for a long time.

If you want to monitor at night, you must use IPC with good night vision. Night vision distance is mainly determined by the amount of infrared light. The night vision distance of single lamp is 30m and that of double lamp is 50m.


6. Cables and connectors:

For the network camera, its line erection mode is obviously richer than the traditional analog equipment. However, no matter which transmission mode is adopted, interference is one of the problems we should pay attention to. Especially for the wired transmission of video signal, the same direction transmission of signal line and high-power line is undoubtedly a taboo in the process of string line. For the convenience of construction, they are not allowed to be placed in the same transmission line tube.


Even if they cannot be separated due to environmental constraints, a distance of at least half a meter shall be guaranteed. Only in this way can we better avoid the impact of strong magnetic interference on video transmission. For equipment using wireless signal transmission, although there are fewer restrictions on the line.


However, the camera itself should avoid the surrounding strong magnetic interference sources. At the same time, ensure the insulation between the camera and the ground. In addition, attention shall be paid to avoid the influence and obstruction of the line to PTZ work. National standard network cable, oxygen free copper with 0.5 wire diameter, gold-plated crystal head, RVV 2 * 0.5 armored line, power line between 30 meters, RVV 2 * 0.75 armored line, power line between 30 - 50 meters, RVV 2 * 1.0 armored line, power line above 50 meters and PVC threaded pipe are usually sufficient. Galvanized steel pipe for underground or explosion-proof.


7. Installation of equipment accessories

In addition to some complete aspects mentioned above, the installation specifications of some camera auxiliary equipment are also a link that we can't ignore in construction. For example, in order to make the installation position of camera swing plate, frame and other equipment meet the design requirements, the installation shall be stable and firm for easy operation and maintenance. The distance between the frame and the rear side of the wall shall meet the maintenance requirements; If necessary, a protective cover or temperature control device shall be installed on the camera.


For links with complex lines, the purpose and characteristics of each line shall also be indicated for future maintenance and sorting. The above are the key links we need to pay attention to when building a simple network monitoring system. Compared with some complex large-scale monitoring systems, these aspects are obviously more simple and intuitive.
However, from a key point of view, these can be said to be the lifeline links affecting the quality of camera work, which can not be ignored. Only when we grasp these important but easily overlooked elements mentioned above, can we enjoy a more convenient network monitoring effect.
